Protected Forests – Peru Nature
These areas have been established in order to keep the protection of the high basins, the banks of the rivers and some other waterways and in general to reserve fragile lands.
Nowadays there are six protected forests that have a surface of 389 986.99 hectares which represent 0,3% of the national territory.
