The Algarrobal El Moro Reserve was established on January 13, 1995 by Law (D.S.) N 02-95-AG, it is located in the department of La Libertad, province and district of Chepen and it has a surface of 320,69 hectares.
The Algarrobal El Moro Reserve protects and preserves the carob tree forest where lives typical fauna. The main purposes of this reserved area are to protect as the fauna as the carob tree forest as well as preserve the archaeological sites of the Moche and Chimu cultures.
