Climate:
Puno has an average annual temperature of 10° (Maximum 19° and minimum 2° C). The rain season runs from December to April.



Access:
The best overland route is via Lima-Arequipa-Juliaca-Puno (1,335 km) which takes around 24 hours. There are also flights between Juliaca and Lima (an hour and 45 minutes.) and Arequipa (45 minutes). There is also a railway service from Arequipa to Puno (258 km) which takes 8 hours and which crosses through the high mountain pass of Crucero Alto (4,490 meters).
