Day 01
Reception at the airport and transportation to the Lodge. In the afternoon, walk through the trails inside the Ecological Reserve, while your guide tells you about the primary and secondary rainforest, its components, uses, and transformation by people, and its importance to the world.Cruise the Madre de Dios River while learning about the river ecosystem, the Amazon creeks, and the Southern Hemisphere sky. Approximately two hours, depending on weather and river conditions.
Day 02
Ascend the tower and cross the tree-top bridges that offer a birds-eye view of the dense rainforest. A five-minute boat transfer takes guests to the Canopy Interpretation Center , to learn about the tree canopy's construction. The canopy walk lasts about 30 minutes, followed by a 15-minute walk to the wetlands, to learn about the floodable ecosystem. After this excursion we return to the Lodge. Have Lunch and then we h ike for one hour through theprimary forest in Tambopata National Reserve, before reaching the beautiful grand oxbow lake called Sandoval. Paddle a rustic canoe and, if the time is right, watch a glorious sunset. Local guides provide environmental interpretation of the reserve, forest, and lake. Transfers to and from the lodge are by boat.
Day 03
This excursion through the Tambopata National Reserve begins with a journey by boat and trail (30 minutes and one hour) to Lake Sandoval , for an environmental interpretation of the area. Next, a two-hour walk through the rainforest takes you to Concepción Farm, for interpretation of clay licks and jungle, followed by a visit to a botanical garden with more than 200 medicinal plants. Finish by paddling a canoe around the cochas (lagoons), while learning the natural history of the Concepción Farm. Return to the lodge by boat.
Day 04
Take a 15-minute boat ride to a local native farm. During your one-hour guided visit, you will learn about native farming techniques and will taste tropical fruits and local produce. Return to the lodge by boat.
