Through this complete program you will be able to visit all the South of Peru, starting in Ica with its beautiful Ballestas islands, and the Nazca Lines. Then you will travel by bus to Arequipa, known as the “White city” because of the Misti Volcano that surrounds it. You will visit the Colca canyon and stay overnight there in a nice hotel. Then, you will travel to Cusco and visit the Sacred Valley and the Inca’s famous Masterpiece, Machu Picchu. Finally, you will travel by bus to Puno and you will have the opportunity to stay overnight in the Amantani Islands.

Itinerary:  

PERU TRAVELS NET will be waiting for you at the airport of Lima with a sign with your name. After that, we will take you to your Hotel in the most tourist and safest district of Lima, Miraflores. (Overnight Miraflores)

After breakfast you will be picked up to have the City tour. This excursion offers the best combination of the different attractions in Lima and its three historical periods: pre-Hispanic, colonial and contemporary. Then you will have lunch in a very nice restaurant. After that, we will return to our private car to go the “Gold Museum”. This museum has an excellent collection of pre-Columbian gold, silver and bronze, ceramics, weavings and mummies. Upstairs there is a remarkable arms collection with an impressive exhibition from Spanish colonial times. Finally, transfer back to the hotel. (Overnight Miraflores) (B)

Transfer from your hotel to the bus station. After that, you will take the Bus Lima to Paracas. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. (Overnight Paracas) (B)

After breakfast we will go to the local pier and take a boat to the Ballestas Islands to observe Sea lions, Boobies, Pelicans, Penguins and other Marine birds, among the many other species which converge there looking for shelter. On the boat trip over to the Islands, the famous “Candelabro” can be seen, an enigmatic drawing that many people believe is related to the Nazca lines, while others think it is a representation of the Southern Cross Constellation, or a stylized drawing of a cactus that was used by high Inca and pre-Inca priests as an hallucinogen. After taking pictures of the Sea lions, Seals and Seabird rookeries we return to Pisco for lunch. Bus transfer to Nazca. Arrival and transfer to your hotel. (Overnight Nazca) (B)

Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to the local airport to board a propeller plane for a fly-over of the enigmatic Nazca lines, enormous line drawings of animals, birds and geometric figures that still remain etched in the desert, and can only be appreciated from the air. In the evening transfer to the bus station to take the bus to Arequipa.(B)

Transfer from the bus station to your hotel. Arequipa “The white city” has a lot of colonial buildings and is located at the foot of three volcanoes: Pichu Pichu (5571m), Misti (5825m) and Chachani (6075m). The facades are beautifully ornamented with fruit, flowers, animals and human faces. This architectonical style is unique and characteristic of this. After doing check in at the Hotel we will take a City tour and visit the beautiful Convent of Santa Catalina, Yanahuara, some colonial buildings, the Cathedral, and much more. After that you will return to the hotel. (Overnight Arequipa)

After breakfast departure to Chivay: 08:00am we will go towards the Valley of the Colca, throughout the way is observed beautiful landscapes, Snow-covered mountains and the reserve of vicuñas. Soon we will arrive at Chivay and we will follow towards the thermal baths the CALERA (15º thermus medicinal waters) located to 15 minutes to the town for which it is necessary to wear bath clothes, soon we returned to Chivay, where we will get accommodation in the hotel, soon in afternoon will be able to visit the town of Chivay, the artisan market and to make some purchases, at night, we will have supper with Creole show. At 06:00 a.m., breakfast and soon we will go towards the Viewpoint de la Cruz of the Cóndor, strategic zone to appreciate the Colca Canyon and flight of the Cóndores, after we will return by the same way, we will appreciate the hanging tombs pre-Incas, litomaquetas, viewpoint of terraces and small towns like Pinchollo, Maca, Yanque, stopping in each 20 town 10 or min. We will arrive at Chivay at around 1 pm. Lunch and transfer back to Arequipa.

After breakfast, we will be transferred to the airport to take the flight to the Inca capital of Cusco . Upon arrival we will be transferred to our hotel. Cusco also known as “The Navel of the Earth” for the Incas with it is fascinating Inca buildings and ruins. Cusco was and will always be the capital of the Inca culture. It shows a fascinating contrast between ancient cultures and the Spanish conquest. This is obvious as we have a look for example at their customs, the traditional parties, where a lot of Inca rituals are demonstrated, the official Inca language Quechua that is still spoken. You never stop exploring Cusco . Free day to get acclimatized to the 3 360 m.a.s.l. (Overnight Cusco) (B)

In the afternoon, a City Tour walking through the Cathedral, Qorikancha or the Sun Temple and the surroundings ruins: The Sacsayhuamán Fortress. People think it was an astronomic observatory and is used for meditation because of its great accumulated cosmic energy. You will visit Q’enqo, this place was used for worship and ceremonial center, Puca-Pucara and Tambomachay or Inca’s Bath . Return to the Hotel. (Overnight Cusco ) (B)

After breakfast you will have a tour to the Sacred Valley of the Incas, a succession of picturesque Towns, agricultural terraces, and archaeological sites. First you will visit Pisac. Pisac is a district of the Calca province, located at 32 km to the northeast of Cusco . Its altitude comprises 2,950m.a.s.l. This town has a typical market and its cultivated terraces in the mountain slopes. Also famous for its Sunday fairs where you will be able to appreciate and buy beautiful handicrafts. Continue up to the Valley toward the town of Ollantaytambo . Ollantaytambo complex is another national archaeological park located at the traditional district of Ollantaytambo, which belongs to the province of Urubamba, on the western side of the Urubamba Valley at 93 km (50 miles or one and a half hour journey approximately) to the northeast of Cusco. The upper section of Ollantaytambo features a fortress made up of a series of carved stone terraces built to protect the valley from possible invasions by warring jungle tribes. Transfer back to hotel. (Overnight Cusco ) (B)

Breakfast. Full day excursion to Machu Picchu archeological complex, located in a subtropical Cusco area at 2 350 m.a.s.l. You will be picked up from you hostel and transfer to the train station where you’ll get the train which leave very early. Arrival to the Aguas Calientes Train Station. There you will take a 20 minutes bus drive to the Citadel of Machu Picchu. The Citadel is on the eastern slope and is divided into two different areas, the agricultural and the urban. You will have a guided tour around this beautiful place visiting the Main Square , The Circular Tower, The Sacred Sundial (The Intihuatana) , The Royal Quarters, The Temple of the three Windows and burial grounds. Time free to take a walk around the Citadel. After that, you will go back to Aguas Calientes. Then, take the train back to Cusco . Transfer train station – hotel. (Overnight Cusco ) (B)

After breakfast, you will travel by bus to Puno. During the road you will visit some archeological places in the way. (Overnight Puno) (B)

Early breakfast and transfer to the local harbour. Then we will visit the floating islands of Uros. Main Activities in these Islands -made of totora- are fishing, hunting, and taxidermy. We will then continue towards Amantani island where we will stay overnight in local families houses. After lunch we will visit Pachamama and Pachatata ceremonial centers, where we will enjoy the beautiful fauna and flora of the Lake Titicaca Reserve. At night typical dinner and folk show offered by the villagers. (Overnight Amantani) (B)

After breakfast we will leave Amantani at 8:00 in the morning for the 1 hour and 45 minutes boat ride to Taquile where you will visit the main village and ruins. You will leave the island at about 14:00 , arriving back in Puno at approximately 16.50. (Overnight Puno) (B)

Breakfast and visit to the archaeological center of Sillustani. We will observe impressive funeral tombs belonging to the Kolla culture (1200-1450). Their noble class (Caciques, priests) were buried in funeral towers called chullpas. Their corpses were previously mummified and placed in fetus position together with some of their belongings, such as gold and silver objects, jewelry, ceramics, and food. Transfer to the airport for your flight Lima . In Lima , you will be awaited by us in the arrival lounge of the airport. Transfer to your hotel. (Overnight Miraflores) (B)
