Trujillo is a friendly and colonial city, which is at the same time one of the main economic and cultural centers of northern Peru. What is more, it is the capital of the marinera dance and Peruvian El Paso horse breeding.
It was the center of the Chimú culture (1100-1400 AD), whose Chan Chan citadel is the largest mud-brick construction in the Americas.
Arrival in Trujillo and transfer to your hotel for lunch. Day free to go strolling the city or shopping.

Visit beautiful colonial mansions and marvel at their well-preserved and imposing portals, balconies and churches in Trujillo. Visit included to the Archaeological Museum of “Universidad Nacional de Trujillo”.
Later visit the “Dragon ceremonial Temple”, then drive to the seaside town of Huanchaco and watch the local fishermen on their traditional “Caballitos de Totora”.
After lunch, admire the ancient and biggest mud-brick City of Chan Chan, once the proud capital of the Chimú Kingdom.
Chan Chan citadel is a “must” for all visitors; is considered to be the largest mud-brick city in the pre-Hispanic Latin America, its higher development were reached between the XII and XIV centuries, then it was conquered by the Incas and finally abandoned before the arrival of the Spaniards.
Finally, return to your hotel.
