Traditional Medicine - Peru Nature

In many parts of Peru, where the use of medicinal herbs and teas is still common, visitors can experience the beneficial effects of age-old natural remedies.

In areas of the department of San Martín, travelers can take part in traditional rituals headed by folk healers and medicine men as well as learn about the use of medicinal plants. During their stay, visitors can also share experiences with inhabitants of nearby communities and take part in a range of activities including river-rafting and fishing on the Huallaga River, in addition to nature watching.

Near the Tambopata-Candamo Reserved Zone, located in the department of Madre de Dios, visitors can visit a botanical garden featuring medicinal plants, with an exhibition of more than 200 species, as well as learning about their use by native tribes.
