Nazca Lines and Paracas National Reserve
03 days / 02 nights
Just two hours from Ica, 50 square km of desert floor were covered centuries ago by vast drawings, figures of mammals, insects and deities.
This tour will take you to visit these amazing drawings and also to the only national maritime reserve, the Paracas National Reserve, in Pisco.
Bus transfer to Paracas. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
After breakfast we will go to the local pier and take a boat to the Ballesta Islands to observe Sea lions, Boobies, Pelicans, Penguins and other Marine birds, among the many other species which converge there looking for shelter. On the boat trip over to the Islands, the famous “Candelabro” can be seen, an enigmatic drawing that many people believe is related to the Nazca lines, while others think it is a representation of the Southern Cross Constellation, or a stylized drawing of a cactus that was used by high Inca and pre-Inca priests as an hallucinogen. After taking pictures of the Sea lions, Seals and Seabird rookeries we return to Pisco for lunch. Bus transfer to Nazca. Arrival and transfer to your hotel.
Very early in the morning pick up from your hotel and transfer to the local airport to board a propeller plane for a fly-over of the enigmatic Nazca lines, enormous line drawings of animals, birds and geometric figures that still remain etched in the desert, and can only be appreciated from the air. In the afternoon transfer the bus station for return drive to Lima.
