Ica is a great place to practice salt water fishing, the area provides a variety of fish and sea fauna. The climate and Peruvian coast landscape will allow us to have a great adventurer tour while practicing this great sport.

The fishing season starts early May and ends in December. During the fishing season, the best months are May, June, last middle of September, October, November and December, this is because there is no moon and on the second quarters we will have the best moons.

Most important is that you won’t have to worry about anything apart from catching a great fish. We provide 4×4 double cabins Toyota Trucks, specialist guide and all the fishing tackle (rods, reels, baits, lures).

Itinerary:  

Day 01: Arrival to Lima and transfer to Ica

At fixed time we will pick you up from your hotel in Lima to take our private transportation to Ica, this land transfer lasts around 3 hours and a half.

Upon your arrival in Ica, our team will be waiting for you at the bus station. We will start our journey with a city tour; then, we will departure to Lomitas beach, one of the best beach areas in ica, this transfer will take us 1 hour and 45 minutes.

Once we arrive to Lomitas beach, our team will set up the camp, the fishing tackle and we will be ready to fish the whole day.

Return to the camp, time to plan the next fishing day and overnight at camp.

Day 02: Full day salt water fishing in Ica

Day 03: Full day fishing in Ica

Breakfast at the camp and full day fishing.

Day 04: Return to lima

Early breakfast at camp and half day fishing.

Around afternoon, our team will get everything ready to return to Lima.

Important information:

Climate

Dry and sunny climate year round, with a yearly mean temperature of 22 °C (72 F). As with all of the coastal desert, the temperature varies greatly during the day; it can reach as high as 32C (90 F) during the day and fall as low as 8 °C (46 F) at night.

The wind blows hard in the month of August specially in the first quarter moon. The water temperature in winter and springtime (May to November) is 15 °C.

Beaches

From the city of Ica you can reach some of the most beautiful beaches on the Peruvian coast.

There are several packed dirt roads leading west, across the desert, to the ocean. One of our tours starts in Ocucaje and crosses the desert for a space of one hour and 45 minutes. This is the access route to a lot of beaches (150km of fishing beaches) such as Lomitas, Barlovento, Antana, Olleros etc.

The Fishing

We have been fishing in Ica beaches for more than 25 years. The cold waters from the Humboldt current offers us a variety of fishes such as: Flounders, SeaBass, Chitas (rockfish) and a lot of Peruvian Shells like Lapas, Abalones, Almejas and sea Crabs.

We use 4X4 trucks to explore more than 120 Km of beaches and we cast all the best places. Peruvian’s Flounders and Sea Bass take artificial lures like Countdown Rapalas, all kinds of Suspending lures, crocodile Spoons, Rebel and Cotton Cordell sinking lures. They prefer blues or black with silver sides.

Also we use natural baits like white anchovies or silverside fish (pejerreyes). During the 4-day tour you will have the opportunity to see Humboldt Penguins, Sea Lions, Sea Otters and occasionally Condors.
